Running Your Own Race

It gets hard but we can get through it
Have you ever woken up to a day that was so slow you found you had to drag your feet out of bed, forced your steps slowly into the bathtub, the thought of putting on proper formal clothes for the meeting you have at 8.15am nearly put you into a heart attack? As you get into your car trying to rush to your meeting, your husband is screaming at you for the breakfast toast you burnt while struggling to prepare your child’s lunch box, your child “who is already late for school “is crying and trying to wiggle her way by faking sickness so that she/he doesn’t get a beating for being a late comer?
Have you ever wished that a morning wouldn’t come so that you didn’t have to make that presentation “the one at which your boss will be sitting and critiquing everything you say”, that presentation that stands to determine your future with your company?
Have you ever felt so lost and alone that you struggled to understand your reason for being alive? Have you ever loved so deeply and gotten so hurt, you simply wished that you would melt into your bed and never have to see another day?
I am sure that each one of us has at some point in our lives experienced hardships.
If like most people you have struggled to understand your being at some point in time, to appreciate why you awoke to a new day, struggled to find your purpose in life, do not despair, you are not alone and you will get through it. While these moments may scare us when they come, get us despondent and doubting of who ware, we do need to exhale and take comfort and strength in the truth that like a clock that ticks each minute, such a moment will pass and tomorrow will always bring with opportunity for you to make newer and more exciting opportunities. we must Trust in Gods perfect plan, be strengthened by the knowledge that He our Father, who knew each hair on our heads before we were formed in our mothers’ wombs, He who sanctified and set us apart knows sees and is always For us.
For you to succeed in life, for you to truly realise your true potential and attain happiness, you don’t need to be negative or defeated by these moments that come. Try first to make each day in your life count for something. Yes, things may not be perfect right now, you may not have everything your way, but you need to realise that you will never have the day back.
If you learn to take each day as a gift instead of wailing to every individual that cares to listen, if you learn to appreciate your existence at this moment in time and take each hardship as a lesson, an experience that is preparing you for your ultimate destiny “after all even the most glittery and valuable of diamonds first had to go through a process of refinery through fire”, you will learn to spend your time effectively. Realise that this is your moment; each day is your chance to either invest your time or to waste it. The choice is yours!
